The healing and therapeutic powers of writing are endless. Take a look at this study. Or let me tell you about how it’s changed my life. Or, (best option), try for yourself, start with writing for 10 minutes a day and notice if you feel any different (you will). Writing is medicine strips away the rules we might have internalised about writing, and writing needing to be ‘good’ or for an external purpose. It was created with the sole purpose of giving you permission and space to express yourself. The art, yes art, that comes from this process is all the more powerful because we remove all the shoulds and let it be. 

Having developed this programme through six different intakes, I’ve decided it’s time to deepen the experience and lengthen the course. We will work together for three months, a season of your life, to go on the journey you need to go on.

This online therapeutic writing course will give you:

  • Space to process

  • Techniques and tools to use writing to help you with the trials and tribulations of being human

  • A cathartic release

  • A better understanding of yourself

  • The opportunity to address difficult things and then let them go

  • Strategies to get out of your head and spirals

  • The support of a group.

What are the facts?

3 month process

First intake = Spring into summer: April, May and June

Weekly meet up on Zoom. Calls live Mondays 7-8pm 

WHAT TO EXPECT / IS INCLUDED?

  • New theme each week and a whole host of techniques, exercises and approaches to find ways to draw out the words that need drawing out. 

  • We will explore many different formats from poetry to letter writing to fictionalising your story, to memoir, list and personal essay. 

  • Follow-up prompts each week to expand upon the theme in your own time (aiming to write once more each week during the 3 months will change something for you!) The group will hold you accountable 

  • Calls will include quiet space with your camera off for your own writing and reflection

  • I hold a no pressure open space to share, you’ll always be invited to, and it’s up to you whether and how much you do.

  • Non traditional, playful and dynamic approaches to creative writing. 

  • We will be connected to the group (max 8 people) via a WhatsApp thread so we can share words, ask questions and support and feel supported. 

  • This programme also includes a 1:1 with me. This will help you to deepen your writing outside of the sessions, set some focus and explore blocks so you can build confidence in your creative ability.
